Mother of Pearl
Mother of pearl is the common name for an organic-inorganic composite material, produced by some mollusks as an inner shell layer to protect them from parasites and foreign objects. Mother of pearl is strong, resilient, iridescent and has a very distinct multi-colored effect with a faint glow.
